How they are made
Each Contour Box is a fusion of mapping technology and craftsmanship.
Having been given a location the relevant data is retreived from which a model is created.
The box top is carved by a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machine which is fed map data from your chosen location.
It is then carefully cleaned up and attached to the handmade box base via wooden or fine metal hinges.
The biggest challenge in all of this is understanding the area requested and it's relief, then framing the data so that the landscape looks 'right'.
