Space Fanatic

A small jewellery box commissioned by a space exploration fanatic, this section of Mars was the landing site for the currently rather busy ‘Perseverance Rover’ which landed on Mars February 18th 2021.

Where She Proposed

A special jewellery box commissioned as a wedding gift from a husband to a wife. Having climbed Snowdon this famous welsh mountain has become part of their family. The proposal wasn't at the summit as you might expect but next to the small corrie lake 'Glaslyn' nestled just below. A simple poignant story carved into a 'forever' box.

A Family Home

I had the privilege of making a box for all round broadcast journalist and author Clare Balding. The box is a tribute to the chalk Downland near her family home.

As the the presenter of ‘Ramblings’ on Radio 4 each week she 'joins notable and interesting people for a walk through the countryside' (BBC). A simple formula and a breath of fresh air and a reminder to stop and reflect.

And we have something in common - the recording of stories. Each person she walks with has a story to tell, a life story with twists and turns that resonate with many of us but the running theme is often how important the act of going for a walk with someone has been for them; side by side, in the private solitude of the countryside with time to offload and put things into perspective. A real catharsis.

Commissioned as a heartfelt tribute, this handcrafted oak box was created to honour one cyclist’s remarkable journey to the summit. To make it truly special, the client requested a bespoke engraving of her husband's exact route - from Bédoin to Malaucène - delicately carved and gilded in 24ct gold leaf, capturing not just the climb, but the triumph of the ride.
